Science-Service Initiative

The primary goal of Northeast Addiction Technology Transfer Center (NeATTC)/National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Science-Service Initiative is to help facilitate collaboration between the main stakeholders involved in applying addiction science in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. In order to build upon science-service collaborative efforts and further support bi-directional relationships among state agencies, provider organizations, and researchers, the NeATTC-NIDA Blending of Science and Service Strategic Planning Meetings were established. Currently, the collaboration consists of the NeATTC; three nodes of the Clinical Trials Network (CTN) including Delaware Valley, Long Island, and New York; regional provider organizations including Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Providers of NY State, Inc, Addiction Treatment Providers of New Jersey, and the Pennsylvania Community Providers Association; and several regional state agencies including the Pennsylvania Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Programs, New Jersey Department of Health - Division of Addiction Services, and the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. The aim of the science-service initiative is to increase translation and application of research into the addiction treatment field and to act as an agent to help identify and address the field’s needs to be supported by research.

The purpose of this website is to provide easy access to resources that support science-service endeavors. This site is broken into five main resource areas: Clinical Trials Network and National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Research Resources, Science and Practice Publications, Funding Opportunities and Grant Writing Resources, Addiction Research Centers and Regional Research Activities, The Change Toolkit: Implementing Change in Practice, Evidence-Based and Best Practice Treatment Resources, and The Link letter.
